Windows 7 KMS Server
This is a VMWare image of Windows 7 Enterprise containing a working KMS server with client count = 25. It can be used to activate Win7 Enterprise or Professional (including "E" and "N" editions) or any edition of Win2k8 R2 server. You can activate 32-bit and 64-bit versions with it.
NOTE: You CAN’T use it to activate Win7 Ultimate. However, Enterprise edition is identical to Ultimate in all respects except activation mechanics.
Requirements:
A network interface in your PC
A compatible edition of Win7 or W2k8 R2 (see above)
VMWare 6.5.2 Workstation
Instructions:
1. Unpack archive to a folder on your hard drive.
2. Install and run VMWare.
3. Open K7-E.vmx file in VMWare and start this VM (Virtual Machine). Wait until it fully loads (you’ll see a Win7 desktop in VMWare window).
4. Ping VM from your PC. If it doesn’t respond check IP configuration: click "LAN" icon on the desktop of KMS VM then click "Details…" and find IPv4 address. Then check IP address of your PC. If you have a DHCP in your network (it might be your router for example) KMS VM and your PC will probably have IPs from the same subnet. Otherwise you’ll need to enter IP settings for KMS VM (and possibly for your PC) manually.
5. Ensure that your PC and KMS VM has the same date/time. You’ll probably need to adjust time zone in VM and sync it with a timeserver.
6. On your PC open command prompt and type:
slmgr.vbs -ipk
(for example if you have Win7 Enterprise: slmgr.vbs -ipk 33PXH-7Y6KF-2VJC9-XBBR8-HVTHH)
You’ll get a confirmation message that your product key has changed.
7. In command prompt type:
slmgr.vbs -skms :1688
(for example: slmgr.vbs -skms 192.168.0.10:1688)
You’ll get a confirmation message.
8. In command prompt type:
slmgr -ato
9. Profit. :-) If you did everything right, your OS is now activated for 180 days. After 180 days you’ll only need to connect to KMS and use "slmgr -ato" command again.
Notes:
You can run WMVare with KMS VM on another PC. It can be used over Internet. All that is needed is connectivity and TCP port 1688 must be open on the PC that runs KMS VM.
A corresponding DNS name or URL can be used instead of IP address in "slmgr.vbs -skms" command (for example:
slmgr.vbs -skms :1688)
